Until recently Amber Woodhouse Equestrian was just me, and occasionally mum or dad when transport was required. The last year has gone so quickly and I now have too many horses to do properly by myself, particularly as I ride out racehorses most mornings and especially on competition days. So...here are the amazing people that keep the whole operation running smoothly! They really are so important and it would not be possible for me to do what I'm doing now without them.

Imogene Knight

Working Pupil/2nd Rider

Immy knows the job inside out and is fantastic. She has very high standards and works quickly, ensuring that the yard and horses always look immaculate. I can always trust her to do a professional job.

As well as the grooming side, Immy is an excellent rider, and before sustaining an injury she had been aiming her young horse at Novice/CCI* in 2013. She is now producing a 5yo and also rides my horses on very busy days.

She is very good at tidying and organising (which anyone who knows me knows I am not!), so we are a great team!

Immy is on the Haddon Apprenticeship Scheme, which enables her to achieve an NVQ level 3 whilst working.

Competition Groom

Anita is a freelance groom and rider and helps me out at all my competitions.

I am so lucky to have found her! She has groomed for Jules Stiller, Giovanni Ugolotti, Tim Price & Jonelle Richards, Alberto Guigni and the list goes on!

As a keen competitor herself, Anita is very experienced and has quite often done everything before I've even thought to ask her to do it.

She's always on the ball, the horses really love her, they look immaculate and we always have a good time!

Dad

Advisor and Reserve Lorry Driver!

Dad better get a mention as I would be nowhere without the support and initial financial help from both my parents. Dad is still a constant source of advice for the business aspect of AWEquestrian, and occasionally takes over as lorry driver!

Mum

Mum and Part-time help!

Mum helps out on really busy days or if we need an extra pair of hands on the yard when we are away competing. She has a lot of experience and does everything to a high standard and is far less stressed mucking out than having to watch me going XC - so it works well for both of us.

Russ Hardy

Trainer

There is nothing Russ doesn't know! My riding has progressed so much in the last few months and I am so grateful for everything he has taught me, not just about riding but about every aspect of horses and am looking forward to all the great lessons to come!

Anna Davison

Team Physio

Anna sees all the horses on a regular basis, keeping them soft and supple and fixing any sore spots!

She does a really great job and the results are clear to see.

Ben Tillett

Farrier

I'm very lucky to have Ben as he is a livery at the same yard so if I ask nicely(!) I can always get any lost shoes put back on very quickly.

Aside from that, Ben is an excellent farrier and was the brave one to advise me to give Squirrel all that time off, but it worked and I'm very grateful we did it. The night before Hartpury CCI, Ben was still helping me at 9:30pm to try and get Squirrel's foot abscess sorted.
