I love Aldon and always think it's a great way to end the season.
This time I was riding KEC Charlotta (Quennie) and new ride Gorsehill Dancer (Dan).
Queenie produced a much improved test for 32.5, and backed it up with brilliant jumping performances to finish in 2nd! The ground was really good considering the amount of rain we'd had leading up to it and we had a great XC round; Queenie just made nothing of what was a fairly decent track.
Dan is probably the biggest horse I've ever even ridden, let alone competed, or taken round a novice at my first event on! There were bits here and there that need tweaking, but a 37 dressage was ok and then just one slightly flat jump in an otherwise nice round cost us a pole, but he stormed round the XC and made the time comfortably, finishing 8th.
Not a bad end to the season and hope we can build on this season to have a successful 2014.
Thank you to Tanzy Lee for the fab photo!
